Lake Bled Hiking

Lake Bled hiking

lake bled hiking

Bled is certainly one of the best entry points for Triglav National Park. Especially known for its glacier lake with a small island, the castle on a high rock wall and delicious original dessert Kremšnita. Bled is not only one of the most beautiful Slovenian tourist pearls, but also the starting point for shorter tourist and easier hiking trips. Of course, they are not as demanding as those in Triglav National Park. However, they are very interesting. The most attractive hikes are Rikli ‘s path, Osojnica climb, Gorge Blejski Vintgar and of course hiking around Lake Bled is the most popular one.

Lake Bled

Hike leads around the Lake Bled and it is 6 km long. Basically is more of a walking path. Of course, it’s very popular here to do easy recreation, like walking, running and cycling. The path goes right by the water and it’s perfect for Sundays walks. This path is not only the most popular with foreigners, but Slovenian tourists as well.

Rikli ‘s path

is a half-hour round hike that leads you to the top of the Straža hill. On the way is a small forest, over there is a monument of legendary healer Arnold Rikli. In addition, here you can try something different for the descent – summer tobogganing! And in the wintertime, you can even ski from this hill.

Ojstrica and Osojnica

are hills that rise above the west coast of Lake Bled. To the first one is just 10 min of hiking and to the next one is 20 min more. You have to reach 480 meters up to the top. Over there on the top is a cute bench, where you can take a rest. Of course, once at the top, you receive the most spectacular views over the lake Bled and its surroundings.

Gorge Blejski Vintgar

was created by the Radovna River on its way. Today is one of the most popular excursion points in the immediate vicinity of Bled. The Vintgar Gorge is half-mile long and up to 100 meters deep, with walls totally narrowed. You can walk through wooden galleries, just a few meters above the water. It`s extremely pleasant refreshment, especially in the summer heat.
