Itinerary

Day 1Pokljuka Plateau (1524m) - Planika hut (2401m)

Your guide will meet you at your accommodation and drive you to Pokljuka – a forested plateau at an elevation of 1400m, where we start our hike. At first the path will take us through the beautiful spruce forest to mountain pasture Konjščica (30min). From here we start with a steeper section towards Jezerca valley and Studor pass (1892m – 1h30min).

We continue with an easy traverse following the contours of Tosc and Veliki Draški Vrh above us. The views on this part of the trail are breathtaking. Soon the trail leads us towards Velo polje and Vodnik hut (1817m – 1h30min), where we can stop for a traditional Slovenian mountain lunch or just a cup of herbal tea.

After the break, the terrain becomes more rocky and much steeper. Here we encounter first cables to help us with the climb on some parts. The scenery also changes as the green forest is exchanged for mystic high mountain atmosphere. We also get to see our final destination Mt Triglav for the first time. Once we reach Planika hut (2400m – 2h 30 min), we can afford some dinner and watch the sunset among some of the highest mountains in Slovenia. We overnight in a cosy dorm.

Day 2Planika hut (2401m) - Triglav (2864m) - Pokljuka plateau (1524m)

Next day we wake up early in the morning and start with our push to the summit straight after breakfast, to avoid the crowds. This is the most demanding part of the climb. Your guide will demonstrate how to properly use the via-ferrata kit as we will be climbing almost the whole way to the top next to cables. First we will reach Mali Triglav and then continue on the ridge with amazing views towards its biggest brother, the highest mountain in Slovenia, Mt. Triglav (2864 – 2h).

We continue with a slow descent down the same trail to Pokljuka plateau (4-5h).

* THE GUIDE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADJUST THE PROGRAM REGARDING THE WEATHER CONDITION AND PHYSICAL CONDITION OF THE PARTICIPANTS.
