Itinerary

Day 1Kranj welcome meeting

After your arrival to Kranj you will meet your local guide for a short briefing of the program. In the evening we will take a stroll through the old town center of Kranj where we will have a welcome dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2Jezersko & Logarska valley e biking

In the morning we will drive north to see the first of Slovenias 3 Alpine mountain groups – the Kamnik Savinja Alps. Our first stop on the way will be in Jezersko, where we will take a short stroll around the lake and sit down for a cup of coffee while admiring the high mountain scenery. From there on we will continue our journey to Solčavsko region, famous for being one of the most remote and pristine areas in the country. There we will take a scenic e-bike tour along its panoramic roads (cca 40km – 3-4hrs). We will also bike along Logarska valley and take a short hike to see a spectacular Rinka waterfall. After all the activities we will sit down in one of the tourist farms to try some of the local specialities. In the afternoon we will drive back towards our apartment stopping in Kamnik to take a stroll around one of the most preserved medieval town centers of Slovenia.

Day 3Debela Peč hike & Lake Bled

In the morning we drive to Pokljuka – the biggest high plateau in Slovenia known for its vast spruce forests. This is the starting point of our hike that will first take us to high pasture on which Blejska koča hut is situated. From there we will continue the climb to Debela Peč – probably the easiest accessible mountain over 2000m in Slovenia. We should reach the top in no longer than 2.5h. From the top we will have amazing views towards some of the tallest mountains in the Julian Alps, including Mt. Triglav. Once we soak in the vistas we descend back to the hut where you can have traditional slovenian mountain lunch or just a small snack. From the hut it is a mere half an hour walk back to our car. On the way back we stop at iconic lake Bled to have a swim or just enjoy some time off (possible activities: short hike to the viewpoint, SUP paddling, visit of the island or castle of Bled). We return to our apartment in the early evening.

Day 4Ljubljana & Križna jama cave

This day will not be so packed with activities, so we can have a small rest. In the morning we drive towards Slovenias capital Ljubljana. On the city tour we get to know its history and observe its beautiful architecture of the sites like Prešeren and Congress square, Triple, Dragons and Cobblers bridge, Town hall, National library, Market place, Cathedral of St. Nicholas. After the tour we have some free time to enjoy a cup of coffee on the lively banks of Ljubljanica river. In the afternoon we continue towards the mysterious world of Kras. We visit Križna jama cave where we paddle on the lake inside the cave and observe the fairytale underground full of stalactites and stalagmites. We return to our apartment in the evening.

Day 5Emerald Adventure

In the morning we drive towards the famous ski resort of Kranjska Gora from where we start with our drive to the highest mountain pass in Slovenia – Vršič. There are 50 hairpin bends with stunning views of the Alpine world behind every one of them. We stop on the top 1611m above sea level to soak in the magnificent vistas, take a few photos and relax next to a cup of coffee. We continue with a descent down to Trenta valley where we take a small hike (30min) to the mesmerizing spring of Soča river. We drive along the river to the town of Bovec  – known as the adrenaline sports capital of the country. In Bovec we meet our rafting guides that take us for a wet adventure on one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe (2-2,5hrs)*. We have lunch in one of the local restaurants. After we continue with our drive along the river to the town of Kobarid where we visit a waterfall in the cave – Kozjak waterfall. We then drive to Most na Soči where we board a car train that takes all the way to Bohinj lake where we have a dip in the crystal clear waters or just enjoy the scenery. We return to our apartment in the evening.

*other possible activities: zipline, hiking

Day 6Via ferrata Vipava

In the morning we head towards Vipava valley. After we park our van we put on the harness, helmet and ferrata set and head towards Gradiška tura mountain. There are 2 options for climbing there – one route is a bit easier, the other a bit harder*. It depends on your skill level which one we take. In both cases our professional guide will take care for your safety. In the afternoon we head down towards the Slovenian coastline and explore the charming little town of Piran. We also grab lunch in one of the local cantinas by the sea. We return to our apartment in the evening.
