Tour description

Meeting with a guide and transfer from your accommodation to the starting point.

Start walking in a village Stara Fužina (600 m), a village, located in the immediate vicinity of Bohinj Lake. Asphalt road will soon change to a forest trail. Through the forest, climb up to the viewpoint with a gorgeous view of Bohinj Lake and the surrounding mountains. A little bit further there is Kosi’s hut on Mt. Vogar (1054 m). (1h)

After a short rest, continue to hut at mountain pasture Planina Jezero (1453 m), which stands over a small lake. Time for a snack. (1h 30 min)

After a break continues walking through the rare forests. Enjoy the change of scenery as you will come from the forest to the beautiful mountain pastures where shepherds communities are still operating and producing dairy products. A trail will get steeper after a while as it will turn towards the saddle Štapce (1851 m). Down below see a wonderful valley of Seven Triglav Lakes with a Double lake in front. (2h)

Descend to a mountain hut at Double Lake (1685 m). (30 min)

Taste traditional Slovenian mountain dinner and overnight in a hut. Start with a breakfast in the hut and then set off along the fairytale looking Seven Triglav Lakes valley to the highest peak on the tour, Mt. Kanjavec (2569m). On the way along the valley, pass two lakes, Kidney Lake and Green Lake. (1h 30 min)

At the second, Green Lake, turn towards the summit, where the trail goes steeper on a more rocky terrain. Brown Lake will be seen from the trail as well. The world above Prehodavci plateau is absolutely high mountain one, technically not demanding, but a bit of caution is needed when walking around grub and stones. Rich the top of Mt. Kanjavec and enjoy a view of the highest Slovenian mountain, Mt. Triglav. (1h 30 min)

Time for some rest and a snack.Descend back down to Hribarice plateau and further down over a scree to Dolič mountain hut (2151 m). (1h 30 min)

After a short break continue downwards in Velo polje valley where the mountain world slowly replaces the forest plateau and reach Vodnik mountain hut (1817 m). (1h)

Dinner and overnight in a hut. Next day after breakfast continues descending down to Voje valley. Stop to see a waterfall Voje and get some rest at Voje mountain hut. Last part of the tour walk along mysterious and beautiful Mostnica gorge. Enjoy unspoiled nature, the view of the green and clear Mostnica river and shade of beech forest. End the tour in Stara Fužina village. (5h)
