Itinerary

Day 1Stara Fužina - Lakes Valley

Start your Hut-to-hut hiking on Planina Blato, continue to hut at mountain pasture Planina Jezero (1453 m), which stands by a small lake, and then the path leads through the sparse forests. Enjoy the change of scenery as you will come from the forest to the beautiful mountain pastures, where shepherds communities are still operating and also producing dairy products. A trail will get steeper after a while as it will turn towards the saddle Štapce (1851 m). But it is definitely worth it. As a result, you will have a wonderful view of the valley of Seven Triglav Lakes with a Double lake in front. (2h)

Then follows descend to a mountain hut at Double Lake (1685 m, 30 min). Where you can taste traditional Slovenian mountain dinner and spent overnight in a hut.

Day 2Ascent to Mt. Kanjavec

Start with a breakfast in the hut and then set off along the fairytale looking Seven Triglav Lakes valley to the highest peak on the tour, Mt. Kanjavec (2569 m). On the way along the valley, you will pass two charming lakes, Kidney Lake and Green Lake. (1h 30min)

At the second-one, Green Lake, turn towards the summit, where the trail goes steeper on more rocky terrain. In addition, Brown Lake will be seen from the trail. The world above Prehodavci plateau is certainly high mountain one. Technically not demanding, but a bit of caution is needed when walking around grub and stones. Reach the top of Mt. Kanjavec and hence enjoy the view of the highest Slovenian mountain, Mt. Triglav. (1h 30min)

Of course, there is time for some rest and a snack. After that, descend back down to Hribarice plateau and further down over scree to Dolič mountain hut (2151 m). (1h 30min)

Later after a short break, continue downwards in Velo polje valley where the mountain world slowly replaces the forest plateau and reaches Vodnik mountain hut (1817 m). (1h)

Follows dinner and overnight in a hut.

Day 3Voje Valley - Stara Fužina

Thus the next day after breakfast continues descending to Voje Valley. Over there we stop to see a waterfall Voje and also get some rest at Voje mountain hut. Last part of the tour walk along mysterious and beautiful Mostnica gorge. Without a doubt, you will enjoy unspoiled nature, the view of the clear Mostnica river and shade of beech forest. Last but not least, end the tour at Stara Fužina village. (5h)
