Karavanke mountain range is known to be the easiest of 3 Alpine ranges for hiking in Slovenia. On this trek we will be sleeping in two traditional mountain huts and climbing mt. Stol, with its 2232m the tallest peak of the range.

easy marked way
Total distance: 8.8km
Walking time: 5h
Ascent: 1464m, Descent: 290m
We start the day with a drive to Ljubelj pass from where we start with a hike. The ascent leads us past the ski slopes to Zelenica hut (1h30min). In the hut we have a small rest and an opportunity to have a snack or a drink before we continue. Later our trail flattens a little bit, we even have a short descend before we start with a final steep part that takes us up the scree towards Mt. Stol (3h30min). After we soak in the views from the top we have a mere 10min descent to Prešernova hut where we have dinner and spend the night.
Total distance: 13.6km
Walking time: 5h
Ascent: 567m, Descent: 1165m
After an amazing sunrise we have breakfast in the hut. Our trek then takes us on a traverse across a grassy ridge with phenomenal views towards lake Bled, all the tallest peaks of Julian alps on one side and Worther lake and Austrian Carinthia on the other. Walking this day is much easier with no major ascents. After about 5h we reach Golica hut where we have dinner and spend the night.
Total distance: 10km
Walking time: 5h30min
Ascent: 544m, Descent: 767m
After breakfast we start the day with an easy ascend up to the top of Golica mountain (30min). The mountain is famous for the 1000s of daffodils that can be seen on its grassy slopes each spring in the months of May and June. The scenic ridge then continues almost all the way to Dovška Rožca hut (4h). There we have a short break before descending down to Bela Peč/Ravne mountain pasture (1h).

You will definitely need good (ankle high) hiking boots, trekking poles to support your knees, day backpack, a lot of water, some snacks and a light jacket.
Winter in the Karavanke is usually longer and snow could fall from November to mid-May. So you can even expect snow till end of June. But it all depends on how much snow falls and how warm the spring is.
That all depends on the weather forecast. If there is just some light rain we will still go on a tour. However, if its gonna be heavy rain, we will try to move your tour to another most convenient date. In either case, we constantly check weather forthcast so we can arrange the best trip for you.
Food on our tours is not included, because of the variety of tastes of our participants. Of course, the food is available in any mountain hut and whatever is on the menu is always good.
