Day 1Krma valley (930 m) - Kredarica (2515 m)

First of all, meet with a guide and transfer from your accommodation to the starting point.

Start your Mount Triglav Climb tour in picturesque Krma alpine glacial valley at an elevation of 930m in Triglav National Park. Firstly, a pleasant walk through a forest to a nice grassy Vrtača plain (1430 m), from where will open some amazing views. Later continue on a comfortable path over grassy fields to a shepherd’s hut on Upper Krma mountain pasture. Finally time for a short break. (2h 30min)

Start of a steeper part of an ascent and more rocky terrain. But enjoy the change of the scenery as you will come from a green forestry world to a mystic high mountain one and have a glimpse of the summit. Further continue climbing towards the highest lying Slovenian mountain hut named Triglav hut at Kredarica plateau on 2515 m. (2h 30min)

Finally stop for a proper Slovenian mountain lunch to gain the energy back and get some rest. Later after break gradually climbs up towards the summit. This is the most demanding part of the climb, but with a professional guidance and a proper equipment, you will be completely safe. So you will need via Ferrata kits (lanyard, helmet, and a harness) and be ascending in a company of your guide. Certainly, that will be a memorable experience. Along the way, there are also cables and pitons for easier progression. First, we reach Mali Triglav peak and then continue on the ridge with unforgettable views towards the bigger brother, Mt. Triglav (2864 m). Once on the highest Slovenian mountain, you will enjoy amazing views around you. (2h)

Hence a slow descent down to the Triglav hut. In addition, dinner at the hut and overnight in a cozy dorm.

Day 2Kredarica (2515 m) - Mt. Triglav (2864 m) - descent to the valley

The next day in the morning starts descending down to the valley. (4h)

What equipment do I need for climbing Mount Triglav?

Summer:

You will definitely need good (ankle high) hiking boots, helmet, self-loading Via Ferrata kit, trekking poles to support your knees, day backpack, a lot of water, some snacks, and a light jacket. If you don’t have Via Ferrata kit equipment, you can rent it with us.

Winter:

You will definitely need good hiking boots, helmet, self-loading Via Ferrata kit, trekking poles to support your knees, day backpack, a lot of water, some food, a warm jacket, and sleeping bag. And as well crampons, ice axe, and snow leggings. If you don’t have winter ascent equipment, you can rent it with us.

What equipment do I need for trekking in Triglav National Park?

Is it possible to climb Mt. Triglav in one day?

To climb it in one day you have to be in excellent fitness condition, as it takes around 6h 30min to ascent the top and then descent on the same day. But you will definitely get more authentic experience with 2 days in the mountains.

Where there be snow?

Winter in the Alps is usually longer and snow could fall from November to mid-May. So you can even expect snow till the end of June. But it all depends on how much snow falls and how warm the spring is.

Is there a tour where I can join others?

In addition to our private tours, we also provide join the group tours. Every Friday for a 1-day hike in Triglav National Park and every Tuesday a 2-day tour to climb Mount Triglav. However this is only in summertime.

Is the tour still on in case of rain?

That all depends on the weather forecast. If there is just some light rain we will still go on a tour. However, if it’s gonna be heavy rain, we will try to move your tour to another most convenient date. In either case, we constantly check the weather forecast so we can arrange the best trip for you.

What is included?

The price is included a local guide for the whole tour, mountain hut accommodation with breakfast and transfer from the starting point (Bled) and back.

What is NOT included?

In the tour are not included any meals other than breakfast, personal insurance, personal and climbing equipment.

Accommodation

The accommodation is usually in a 4-5 bed room, except during high season when demand is higher. It is necessary to understand that these are mountain huts that are limited in capacity, especially in high season.

Is food included with the tour?

On the tours, breakfast is included. Other meals on our tours are not included, because of the variety of tastes of our participants. Of course, the food is available in any mountain hut and whatever is on the menu is always good.

Join the group?

Yes, we do have to join the group trips for some tours. There is a 1-day hike in Triglav National Park to Seven Lakes Valley and 2-days tour to climb mount Triglav from Krma Valley. Both depart weekly and act on the principle of joining a group, with a minimum number of participants of 2 persons. In case there are not enough registered persons, the tour is canceled and the advance payment is refunded.

Round tour

We have a Triglav National Park round day tour with a car or also otherwise called as Emerald River tour. Departure is every week, with a minimum number of participants of 2 persons. In case there are not enough registered persons, the tour is canceled and the advance payment is refunded.
